Abstract
The general-purpose 12b VLSI Fuzzy Coprocessor SAE 81C991 is presented. With a peak performance of 25 Mill, rules/s, it can be applied to complex real-time tasks in fuzzy control and classification. The chip can process a virtually unlimited number of inputs, outputs and rules and offers a variety of algorithms and operation modes. Due to its small silicon area of 17.9 mm2, it can be integrated as a macrocell on 8b or 16b microcontrollers.
