Abstract :
The palm-bone lesion detection mainly deals with the problem of finding the position of lesion for doctors. The aim of this detection is to provide the accurate lesion data which is based on the characteristics of the edge of the hand bone of the patients to assit the patients in recovering in a short time. Since the palm-bone tends to injury, the patients will suffer a lot without the accurate diagnose and the prompt medical treatment. It has a serious influence on the patients´ health. The traditional palm-bone lesion detection contains many problems in hand-wrist X-ray image such as the low contrast, unevenly lighting, by the edge of bone and muscle and soft tissue and the edge of irregular shape. The traditional edge detection method is difficult to obtain the accurate edge of the bone. This paper provides an improved active contour model to detect the edge of the palm-bone and further extraction of the image of palm-bone.
