Abstract :
To utilize P2P as the carrying technology for HD-VOD within MAN, the traffic distribution on every hierarchical links is analyzed, which shows the most traffic would pass through the core switch and induces the jam in the backbone. The optimizing method is proposed to eliminate the jam by selecting the nearest source node as the preferred. The analysis proves that the traffic through the core switch decreases greatly by regulating the traffic from the backbone to the edge of MAN. Then the P2P system is designed for HD-VOD in MAN with a topology server to control the P2P traffic distribution in the optimization mode, and the algorithm for the nearest source node is put forward.
