Abstract :
V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) communication is subjected to safety concerns on roads. In this paper, we propose a new method to guarantee the successful V2V emergency message communication for safety warning by utilizing the commercialized WiBro wireless network. Different from the well-known V2V communication standards (such as DSRC and WAVE) which are basically an ad-hoc based approach, our method is on WiBro, also known as the Potable Internet, that is an infrastructured wireless network. In order to adopt V2V emergency communication to WiBro feasibly, a connectionless broadcasting scheme is suggested in this paper, in which the modification of uplink subframe structure is introduced and the fast up-down backoff (FUDB) algorithm is proposed. The delay of emergency message dissemination covering a desired area is evaluated as a performance measure. According to our simulation study on the given scenario, the proposed scheme shows the reasonable characteristics of low delay in the V2V communication for emergency message dissemination.
