Abstract :
The multi-hop routing protocol LEPS in TinyOS has some disadvantages: communication quality can not be guaranteed; and the topology changes frequently. This paper presents an improved multi-hop routing protocol based on LEPS, called I-LEPS. I-LEPS simultaneously considers hop count to the sink node and link quality in parent choosing, and dynamically adjusts network topology according to node energy. Simulation experiments showed that I-LEPS achieved higher topology stability, routing reliability, and increased network life time, at cost of slightly extended end-to-end delay in data forwarding.
