            Abstract : 
Software development organizations follow some process when developing a software product. A key component of any software development is life cycle model, on which the process is based. The high failure rate in software development has shown that a new approach is required to meet the software development industry needs. This paper examines existing software development techniques and suggests a component driven software development approach, which will implement proven techniques of engineering discipline in development process.
