Abstract :
In 3D garment design, transforming of 3D virtual body patch to 2D pattern is the key process. After that, it needs to judge the position of cracks (i.e. dart) by some reasonable methods. For bottoms, it is the main criteria that measure the rationality of patterns. The position of darts is determined by characteristics of 3D virtual body itself. The length of darts can be confirmed by critical curve of vertical profile, and the position of darts in waist line can be determined by curvature of critical curve. Then, 2D patterns of bottoms can be obtained more scientifically.
