Stochastic frontier analysis (SFA for short) is a typical representative of parameter method in the frontier analysis. It is use to evaluate production efficiency of multiple input and output indicators in decision-making unit and has been widely used in the measurement of production efficiency in medical service. This paper analyzes literature of the measurement of production efficiency in medical service by SFA at home and abroad. This paper also concludes the difficulties and possible solution in the empirical applications and reviewed the advantages and disadvantages.
