Tourism e-government is an ideal channel for tourism administration or destinations marketing especially in China for the fast development of cyber industry in the country. The paper selects 61 local tourism government websites in China and evaluates the effectiveness of the local tourism e-government with content analysis from the following aspects: website usage, administrative agencies, administration affairs, information service, administration service online and website design. From the content analysis the paper finds that it has been improved on the local tourism e-government in China and the information service function performance well. But there are still some problems which need to solve. Some excellent tourist cities have not tourism e-government web site still and the other aspects especially administration service online and website design must be improved. At last the paper brings forward countermeasures.
