Abstract
This paper describes the development of high-speed interconnect networks in high-performance distributed computing systems. We depict three typical interconnect topologies and analyze their characteristics and bisection. After proposing a type of system architecture of processing platform, we briefly discuss the RapidIO protocol and design a novel switching element architecture and describe the constituting of the switching element. In order to verify the performance and application effects of the structure, we implement and establish an actual computing platform. The bandwidth and transmission delay results are shown in experiment results.
