Abstract :
This paper describes a low voltage piezoelectric actuated variable focus plano-convex liquid lens module fabrication. A nickel piezoelectric piece which has good ductility was used. To enhance the driving voltage efficiency, a hollow plastic sheet with 16 mm long, 15 mm width and 0.11 mm thick was bonded onto the nickel piezoelectric piece. The hollow plastic sheet with inner diameter 9 mm reduces to 1/3 of the driving voltage compared to the module without the plastic sheet. With driving voltage 0~60V, liquid variable focus lens achieves 12~31mm the focal distance range variation.
