Abstract :
In this work, carbon nanotube (CNT) in anodized alumina templates electrode is developed as a new electrochemical electrode for chemical sensing application. Its electrochemical sensing performance is evaluated for salbutamol detection with different concentrations ranging from 10-6 to 10-4 mol.l-1. CV curves show irreversible oxidation peak at ~0.6 V. The amperometric response is linear with a sensitivity of 0.02 A/mol l-1 and a minimum detection limit of ~1×10-6 mol l-1. The electrochemical sensing performance of CNTs in AAO templates are found to be significantly better than CNTs grown with no AAO template with sharper reaction peaks and lower minimum detection limits. Thus, electrode is a potential candidate for the electrochemical electrode for chemical detection.
