Abstract
FACTS devices can regulate the active and reactive power as well as voltage-magnitude. Static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) is taking place as of the new generation FACTS devices. The effects of STATCOM using eigenvalues analysis on power systems small signal stability presented in this paper. The simulation of system dynamic behavior is mainly done in the following two cases: classical model and classical flux-decay model equipped with automatic voltage regulator (AVR).
