Abstract :
In this paper, we assume a class of photonic band gap fiber (PBGF) comprising of a triangular array of circular air holes as a clad. A scalar finite element method (FEM) with periodic boundary condition (PBC) is implemented to calculate and analyze the band structure of PBGF. Furthermore effect of permittivity constant of background material of clad is investigated on band structure diagram.
