Abstract :
In consideration of the current developments on UWB sensors for biomedical applications [1–5], this paper deals with the status of breast cancer detection in diagnostic imaging, as well as with the molecular and cellular biology of cancer initiation and progression achieved in the frame of an interdisciplinary research project. In this context the question will be addressed, how UWB imaging could distinctly help to improve woman health in the long term, particularly in conjunction with currently established image based technologies for breast cancer detection.
