  • Abstract
This paper presents a two-step design methodology with a 2-D modelling approach based on FDTD and Genetic Algorithms to synthesise flat lenses for beam shaping applications. This methodology has been applied to design flat lenses that radiate a stable flat-top beam over a 10% bandwidth in the H-plane and an omni-directional radiation in the E-plane. In particular, a validation example of such a lens in the V-band with a double-shelled structure, have shown the good reliability of such 2-D approaches to design flat lenses.
