Abstract :
In this paper we present a numerical method for the simulation of large circular antenna arrays using the Array Scanning Method (ASM) applied with the method of moments to reduce the mathematical problem from an (N⋆M)x(N⋆M) system to N (MxM) systems where N is the number of elements in the array and M is the number of basis functions in the antenna mesh. A link will be established between the ASM and DFT-based methods for circulant matrices. This technique will be applied to study the resonance modes of a circular array made of 90 dipoles, and we will use it to study a circular array of connected wideband tapered-slot antennas.
