Abstract
In this paper, wideband reflection and transmission properties of different materials are presented for a frequency range between 110 and 135 GHz. In particular, bistatic reflection profiles and transmission losses are measured for concrete, medium density fiberboard (MDF), gypsum plasterboard and double pane window glass samples. These measurements are compared with simulation results derived using the transfer matrix method. The results provide a database of the angle and frequency dependent transmission and reflection coefficients for the four considered materials. In addition, the fundamental investigations carried out lay the foundation for radio channel related research, which is essential for the development of future mm-wave gigabit communication systems.
