Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce a compact low cost dual band adaptive planar phased array for MIMO systems. An important application of the array is in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) where compact and low cost adaptable antennas promise increases in capacity and coverage. The lower band of the antenna ranges from 2.360 to 2.510 GHz, while the upper band covers from 5.000 to 5.450 GHz with an average gain of 3.5 dBi. The antenna system consists of an array of two elements in two layers and a ground wall to improve isolation characteristic. The proposed antenna exhibits low mutual coupling (less than −25dB) between elements with good bandwidth.
