Abstract :
The suppression of horn side lobes and backward radiation due to application of metamaterial in the horn design have been demonstrated experimentally. It was shown that the electromagnetic frequency corresponding to zero values of real parts of metamaterial permittivity and permeability is preferable for side lobes suppression in comparison with positive and negative parameters. The experimental antenna patterns are in good compliance with numerical simulation results.
