Abstract
In this paper a new metal-mountable RFID tag antenna with the highest read-range-to-volume ratio of all commercially available tags is described. The antenna is designed for an Alien H3 chip and represents a small printed loop antenna (37×7×3.2 mm3) with matching elements integrated into its structure. Two embodiments for monoband and dual band applications described in the paper show a read range of 5 m and 2 m respectively.
