Abstract :
This contribution presents a method of moments (MoM) approach based on a surface/volume integral equation formulation for the characterization of quasi-3D structures in multilayered media. The vertical volume currents for the quasi-3D components are incorporated in the spectral domain Green´s functions by analytical integrations over the vertical direction and by a summation over the Cartesian wavenumbers leading to extended spectral domain Green´s functions. With these extended functions and an asymptotic subtraction technique the whole quasi-3D structure can be analyzed with the same performance than pure planar structures. For the vertical currents an arbitrary discretization can be applied, furthermore they can cross an arbitrary number of layers, providing a very high modeling flexibility.
