Abstract :
In recent years, studies on body-centric or human-body communications have become an important and active area of research owing to their various applications such as e-healthcare, indoor security systems and personal communications. So far, a system that recognizes and authorizes users when the users touch the receiver equipped on a wall has been proposed. However, most of recent investigations based on numerical simulations were conducted with models that include only human body and wearable devices. In fact, there have been few reports about communication link characteristics between wearable devices and external devices equipped on surrounding objects. In this paper, a model that includes a receiver on a wall was developed, and fundamental characteristics were numerically analyzed by using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method.
