Abstract :
A new Multi-Pulse Position Modulation (MPPM) system was established. It improves the effect which rain, fog and snow caused to atmosphere laser communication system. Reed-Solomon (RS) encoder/decoder and maximum-likelihood detection were used in the new system. Bit error rate were analyzed when system use RS codes. The simulation results show that bit error rate of RS codes system decreases obviously when SNR is relatively larger. Moreover, it is found that bit error rate of RS codes system is larger than no use RS codes system. And bit error rate was increased with parameter n of RS codes when SNR is relatively small.
