Abstract :
This paper presents a parametric method to create garments for dressing virtual characters based on sketching contour curves. Contour curves, including silhouette curves and cross section curves, are used for garment modeling. Constraints are introduced into contour curves to edit the garment parametric. This method is integrated in an interactive system in which the user sketches the garment in 2D views. The results show that the system can be used to create standard clothes such as skirts or shirts and so on.
