Abstract :
A fix-tuned submillimetre-wave component with the least number of parts to minimiase the cost and maximize the potential for wireless communication is presented. We reported on the design and characterization of a 225GHz Schottky-diode frequency tripler made with four barrier diodes from European company and the circuit is fabricated on a suspended quartz. The whole frequency tripler circuit is optimized by harmonic balance analysis simulator of ADS. The simulated multiplication efficiency reaches 17.5% at 225GHz, 13.3% at 228GHz and 8.6% at 222GHz.
