Abstract :
This paper presents a brief summary of the advantages of Electrical LNG, with a detailed analysis of the selection criteria for multi-MW (>30MW) electrical drive and its related major equipment (Transformer, VSD and Harmonic Filter) during the call for tender process. The paper will look at the aspects of equipment characteristics, and operating & functional requirements, simulation analysis, shaft study, starting conditions, cooling systems, container versus buildings, preliminary harmonic study, etc. and also look at the interface coordination between the electrical and mechanical team including interfaces between compressor and motor manufacturer in order to provide clear recommendations to the project engineer on the electrical equipment.
