In the 21^st century, with the rapid development of technology, knowledge-based economy begins to take shape, so it is extremely significant to improve and update the knowledge structures of college teachers. After introducing the concept of life-long education, the paper conducts an in-depth study of college teacher´s role in life-long education as learning facilitators, researchers, mental health defenders and builders of student´s healthy personality, paying much attention to edification of humanistic spirit and cultivation of scientific approach. On the basis of role setting, college teachers are required to have a high degree of sensitivity to new knowledge, profound professionalism, strong thirst for knowledge and capabilities in education and scientific research.
