The processes and spatial distributions of urbanization and higher education in Jiangxi province are been analyzed, and the interactive effects of them been estimated by means of econometrics method. The results show: Firstly, both urbanization and higher education significantly developed after the reforming and opening up, but there is a tendency of spatial aggregation; Secondly, there is a two-way granger relationship between urbanization and higher education in Jiangxi province, in which the partial logarithm modeling is been quantified; Thirdly, there is a spatial corresponding relationship between urbanization level and scale of higher education, but there is not a compatibility characteristic of their spatial growth. Therefore, not only should the priority districts be specially developed, but also the spatial distributions of the higher education be adjusted according to the demand of urbanization stage and poplar higher education.
