Abstract :
In this study, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is applied to analyze user intention and learning effect on using JoinNet, a widely used Internet-based instruction system, to develop digital material. The proposed TAM consists of five major constructs, namely the system quality, the perceived usefulness, the perceived ease of use, the behavioral intention, and the learning effect. To gather empirical data, a questionnaire is designed with three parts, including the personal profile, the experience of using JoinNet, and open items. Our samples are 45 undergraduate students who have taken an E-Learning class in 2009 and have used JoinNet in their term project. Linear regression, Pearson correlation, and path analysis are used to verify our proposed seven hypotheses. Analysis results have revealed the following three findings. (1) The system quality plays an important role in user acceptance of a new information system. (2) The perceived usefulness is a determinant factor for the behavioral intention and learning effect. (3) When users get experienced in using the system, the impacts of the perceived ease of use should become more significant.
