As the postmodern multiple society and globalization developed, education is affected and gradually becomes commodities. Extremely, schools become stores and teachers become peddlers of knowledge. Since the thought of respecting customers and that consumers are the best, teacher professionalization is challenged. Should teachers insist on professional viewpoints, or follow the opinions of staff, parents and students? Is it practicable, as the scholars of critical pedagogy claim, that teachers should be transformative intellectuals? Based on McLaren´s perspective on critical pedagogy, this study investigates his analysis of capitalism and ideology. Accordingly, we interpret how teachers under the dilemma of commodification can strengthen the critical ability and reshape their professional images and intellects.
