Abstract :
This paper presents a model program for information technology education for undergraduates of engineering in China. The model consists of three key elements such as a well-defined curriculum, teacher preparation programs, and research in information technology education. This paper lays emphasis on teaching strategies. The model is aimed at increasing student interest in studying information technology as a discipline, and becoming computer literate and computer competent.
