Graduation thesis research is an important practical teaching part in training the specialized and the overall quality of students in institutions of higher learning, it is an effective way to train the ability of working independently, scientific research and innovation capacity of students. The combination of thesis and research projects had not only solved the lack of funds at present time, but also provided an effective way for improving the ability of scientific research and engineering practice of students. By focusing on the characteristics of students and reflecting the “scientificity” of the topics, by collecting literature data, writing literature review, serious field practice and practical information gathering, attentions on indoor work and thesis writing, students were trained in both thesis and research projects. There was at least one outstanding thesis in each undergraduate grade during the four years. There were two school outstanding theses in 2008, one school and two college outstanding theses in 2009. What´s more, the undergraduates guided had been well thought of in job hunting and further applied for post-graduate master´s degree by employers, admissions institutions and master instructors. The basic and professional knowledge had been consolidated then the students could analyze and solve problems independently with their knowledge learned, and the ability of scientific research was also promoted.
