Abstract :
A novel variable phase shifter (VPS) based on helical slow-wave structure is presented in this paper. The VPS proposed here is used in TD-SCDMA (1.7GHz-2.17GHz) frequency band. By using the structure of helical slow-wave, physical length of the novel VPS is reduced substantially compared to the conventional phase shifter. In this paper, the new structure of VPS is calculated by High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), and verified by experiment.
