Research and practice for teaching methods of college mathematics with the aim of engineering application in independent colleges

As an important basic course for science and engineering students, it plays an irreplaceable role to cultivate and improve the comprehensive qualities and abilities of students. In this paper, engineering applications-oriented, firstly it analyzes that the current situation and problems which exist in math series curricula in the independent colleges, and then proceed new teaching method. The method is from reality. It combines many teaching method and mainly is based classroom teaching. It focuses on the coordination of effect of mathematics history and the relevant curricula and the method also uses multimedia technology and mathematics software. Then from the contrast of the results of the Mathematical Contest in Modeling, it shows the method has the scientific efficiency, and the research promotes the teaching reform of college Mathematics in independent colleges‥
