Abstract
The major drawback of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is its high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). The partial transmit sequences (PTS) method is well known for PAPR reduction, but its exhaustive search of phase factors causes high computational complexity. To overcome this problem, a Tabu search algorithm is proposed to reduce the complexity by choosing the weighting factors suboptimally. It is shown that the proposed algorithm offers good PAPR performance while affording significant lower complexity,.
