Abstract :
This paper analyses the potential problem of TD-SCDMA indoor coverage and presents a novel approach to optimize TD-SCDMA indoor coverage, which is a key issue for TD-SCDMA system. In order to improve TD indoor coverage, an additional equipment named Enhanced UMA Controller needs to be deployed, which works just like RNC(Radio Network Controller) of UTRAN(UMTS terrestrial Radio Access Network). Through the Enhanced UMA controller, dual-mode handset can logins TD network via WiFi network connection without influencing the existing TD-SCDMA core network. All traditional services are supported with better user experience. And at the same time this solution is also easy to deploy, helpful to save scarce spectrum resource and increase the speed of accessing Internet dramatically.
