  • Abstract
    In order to solve such problems as the long cycle of design and manufacture, and difficulties and inaccuracies in price quotation of forging machine tools, this paper carries out a research on the rapid design and quotation system of forging machines. Rapid design transforms the parameters of the user´s performance requirements into the design parameters of machine tools, and instantly works out the product design through calculation. Next, it produces the three dimensional model of the product and evaluates the manufacturability of the components. Based on the model obtained from rapid design, rapid quotation is realized by applying the seamless connection technology between the CAPP system and the CAD system into the rapid quotation system, so that it can figure out the costs of the forging machine instantly. The soft-wares developed could greatly enhance the quality and proficiency of forging machine design, and provide important basis and help for the prompt and accurate decision-making of the enterprise.
