Abstract
How to monitor and predict icing load of power transmission lines are important problems for the reliability of power grid. A method based on Kohonen Self-Organizing Map is presented here to extract the meteorology features for the process of transmission line icing, which are available to forecast the icing disaster of it. According to the results of simulation, the icing process in Tao-Luo-Xiong Line is classified and the meteorology features, which impact the process line icing, can be acquired conveniently.
