Abstract :
Down-sampling filter is employed to obtain 4:2:0 chroma format and up-sampling filter is used for display. Currently, the existing algorithms are processed in spatial domain. In this paper, a frequency domain based down-sampling and up-sampling filter is proposed. With this algorithm, more original information can be preserved and aliasing can be avoided in chrominance components. Simulation results show that average 0.21 dB coding gain can be achieved by using the proposed algorithm compared with MPEG-4 filter.
