Farm-forest ecotone plays an important role in the ecosystem, but at present, there is little research on it. In this paper, choosing the Huinan county of farm-forest ecotone in the Northeast region, by the land use/cover data in 2000 and 2005, the land use/cover change and its ecosystem service value were evaluated. It concluded that the increase of farm is at the cost of the decrease of forest. Destroying the forest to the farm is prominent in this region. The farm at the high slope appear the trend of increase by analyzing the data in 2000 and 2005.The agricultural exploitation which lead to the decrease of forest make the ecosystem service value in 2005 lower than 5.35*107 yuan in 2000. The change of ecosystem service value of Shidaohe town, Chaoyang town, Huinan town, Jinchuan town are stronger than Huinan county. Returning farm to forest for the steep slope farm will result in increase of ecosystem service value about 1.06*107 yuan. In contrast, returning farm to grass can result in increase of ecosystem service value about 0.02*107 yuan. So it needs to advocate returning farm to forest.
