Abstract :
Network Calculus is a set of recent developments that provide deep performance analysis of communication networks. Central to the theory is the use of alternate algebras such as the min-plus algebra to transform complex network systems into analytically tractable systems. With network calculus, we are able to understand some fundamental properties of integrated services networks, window flow control, scheduling and buffer or delay dimensioning. Real-time performance of industry wireless network is a hot research field. However, there isn´t an effective modeling to describe it until now. In order to guarantee the QoS for wireless network, the QoS deterministic upper bounds need to be accurately calculated. In this paper, we summarize the theory and application of network calculus. Arrival curve and service curve are two fundamental network calculus tools, by which the max delay is got. Through analyzing the Guaranteed Time Slot mechanism in IEEE 802.15.4, a service curve model by network calculus is proposed. The max delay provides theory direction for transmitting real-time data in wireless network for constructing switch in real-time industrial network.
