A key technique to develop MIB browser based on Windows platform

The network management station is to make the reading and the writing operations of the managed equipment through MIB (Management Information Base), the set of variables of SNMP. Through managing SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) variables in the managed equipment, the graphical tool of MIB browser realizes the network management. After the research into standard MIB document and private MIB document, the paper puts forward detailed procedures and a key algorithm of using Visual C++ according to standard or private MIB document in order to construct corresponding MIB tree on the platform of Windows, and provides the way of programming SNMP variables and some points for attention.
