This paper proposes a method of designing a single neuron adaptive controller, which combines single neuron structure with ant system algorithm. Single neuron structure can implement functions of adaptive and self-learning by adjusting weighting parameters. However, the value of neuron proportional coefficient and the learning rates parameters will affect the performance if they are selected inappropriately. Thus we introduce ant colony algorithm to find optimal solutions for this combinatorial optimization problem. With optimizing neuron proportional coefficient and weighting parameters, the performance makes a further improvement in process control system. The simulation result indicates the validity of the method.
