Notice of Retraction

This paper can be divided into four historical stages that discussing the impacts of human activities on lake evolution in the middle reaches of Yangtze River. Its natural environment has been influenced by human activities since the human beings moved into the lake area in the middle reach. But the impacts were limited till Yuanmo-Mingchu. After the Mid-Ming Dynasty, it entered into a large-scale development period, which followed by serious damage of the lake geographical environments. In the industrial society, the influences of human activities on lake environments were further enhanced both in depth and width.
