    As we known, urbanization plays a decisive role in the sustainable development in the alpine pasturing area, however, as ecological environment is in fragility in the alpine pasturing area located in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, what kind of urbanization pattern we choose is quite an essential choice. This paper takes Gannan pasturing area for example in which we advance the idea that urbanization in Gannan pasturing area must take ecological capacity under consideration and then we design the pattern under ecological constraints in Gannan pasturing area based on the detailed analysis of its ecological background upon which urbanization can be developed as well as its infrastructure.
