Abstract :
In view of the existing problems in 3D scene modeling, a new modeling strategy is put forward based on the marching square algorithm. Firstly, we divide the DEM data into small blocks and construct contour Lines model with marching square algorithm. Secondly, with the contour Lines model we can generate wire-frame model by triangulating the contour Lines. Then the surface model of 3D scene can be obtained by filling the wire-frame model. Finally, in order to get the interactive realistic scenario, we carry out the visualization rendering, such as texture mapping, light computing, material setting and so on. All these operations can be completed with OpenGL technology. In order to improve the overall scene rendering speed, this paper designs a new framework for scene rendering. Experiment results show that the modeling method possesses higher modeling efficiency and has a wide application prospects.
