Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) seismic data visualization is a critical technique in 3D seismic data interpretation. In the paper, the characteristics of seismic data, the technology of 3D data sets visualization and the technology of 3D graphics construction and display using interactive data language (IDL) were discussed. The author proposed new solutions for 3D seismic data visualization, moreover expounded how to reorganize 3D seismic data and how to realize direct volume rendering and surface rendering using IDL. Using the interface provided by IDL based on COM standard, the author applied the new solutions to practice and built a 3D Seismic Data Visualization Platform.
