Abstract :
With the development of the GIS and Compute technologies, the Vehicle Navigation System (VNS) is used widely now, however, the traditional VNS is not intuitive and imaginable enough for users. To solve this problem, a novel vehicle navigation system based on multiple-source data is researched in this paper. An improved architecture based on the traditional system is purposed by adding a multi-source data module which combines video data, remote sensing images, vector electronic map and some other data sources together, then the key technologies in details such as GEO-Video acquisition, remote sensing images processing, map matching are described. Finally, a prototype system is achieved, the performance of improved VNS has wonderful effect and it can satisfy the comprehensive navigation requirements of users.
