Abstract
This paper presences the quantitative methods of ground surface subsidence. The principles of fractal interpolation are discussed. By using the measured data of mining subsidence, the fractal feature of the dynamic law of the subsidence is analyzed. Based on the curve of the subsidence amount to the time, the fractal dimension of the curve is calculated by using the boxing method. With the help of the theory of fractal interpolation, the law of the mining subsidence is simulated in MATLAB language. By comparing the simulated data with the measured data, we obtained that the fractal interpolation is better than the linear interpolation in simulating mining subsidence.
